Manual Therapy for Horses: Techniques and Benefits

Manual therapy is a hands-on approach similar to the classical Swedish massage, designed to improve your horse’s health and performance. Using my hands as the primary tool, I detect muscle tension and observe how the horse responds to treatment.

Common Techniques in Equine Manual Therapy:

  • Effleurage (gentle stroking)
  • Circular motions
  • Long strokes
  • Kneading

This therapy is an excellent complement to EFTR® and handheld vibration devices. Additionally, I use Fasciq® tools to effectively treat the myofascial system, promoting flexibility and reducing stiffness.

Benefits of Manual Therapy for Horses:

  • Relieves muscle tension and stiffness
  • Improves circulation and mobility
  • Supports recovery and overall well-being

Maintaining close contact with the horse is essential during treatment. Techniques such as direct pressure for tense muscles and fascia care ensure a holistic approach.
